Facilities

Housed in the original Victorian police station, gaol and magistrates court on Long Street, this small free museum tells the story of policing in Gloucestershire with a focus on Tetbury's own history. Visitors can walk through the original police office and cells, which hold photographs, uniforms, equipment and case files, and see a collection of British handcuffs and restraints on public view. Upstairs, a first-floor courtroom is laid out as a magistrates court with models showing how a hearing would have run in the late 1940s or early 1950s. Children are welcome when accompanied by an adult, and the museum advertises events and family activities alongside its free guided tours. It suits a short, indoor visit while touring the southern Cotswolds.
