Sid's Cafe is a small, traditional cafe on Towngate in the centre of Holmfirth, the Holme Valley town best known as the setting for the long-running BBC sitcom Last of the Summer Wine. The cafe itself featured in many episodes, and its walls are covered with photographs and memorabilia from the series, so fans of the show can see a set they will recognise. Families are made welcome: the cafe says children are very welcome, offers child-sized portions on request and has a high chair. Food is simple and homely, with sandwiches, toasties, jacket potatoes, soup, scones and cakes. There is a small courtyard seating area out front and a tea garden at the back with picnic benches, so it suits a relaxed stop during a walk around the town. Souvenirs are sold on site. It is a place for a cup of tea and a bite to eat rather than a dedicated attraction for children.
