A free stop for young Harry Potter fans visiting central London. Platform 9¾ is a luggage trolley set into the brick-effect wall of the King's Cross station concourse, where visitors can pose as if they are heading for the Hogwarts Express. Next door, the Harry Potter Shop is styled after Ollivander's wand emporium and sells Hogwarts house jumpers, robes, wands, games and books, which suits families looking for a souvenir. Professional photographs with a house scarf can be bought there. The installation is in a busy public station, so the queue can be long during school holidays, and visiting early in the day helps. It works well as a short stop of under an hour, either on its own or alongside other Harry Potter sights in the city.
