Housed in a former family home of the designer William Morris, this gallery holds one of the largest collections of his textiles, wallpapers, furniture, stained glass and books. Displays are arranged across several floors and include hands-on interactive exhibits that suit children. Families can pick up a trail at the front desk and borrow sensory bags designed for SEND visitors, which include a visual story and a sensory map. Monthly drop-in craft and play sessions are run for under-fives and their adults, with a snack to finish. The gallery has a ground-floor café overlooking Lloyd Park, so a visit can be combined with time outdoors. Admission is free, and the building is easy to reach on foot or by bus from Walthamstow Central.
