Very limited parking at the retirement village where the centre sits; the centre asks drivers to use spaces not allocated to residents. Cycling on the Strawberry Line is encouraged, with bicycle racks provided.

The Sandford Station Railway Heritage Centre occupies a restored Victorian railway station building on the old Cheddar Valley line, now part of the Strawberry Line walking and cycling route. Inside, visitors find a collection of railway items and local memorabilia, including material linked to the Bristol and Exeter Railway and the Great Western Railway. Outside on the platform, a restored Sentinel shunter engine is displayed with a short train, and a carriage has been fitted out as a small cinema showing a history of the line. The centre also has a working Gauge 1 model railway, which suits children who enjoy trains and model layouts. The site is run by a volunteer charity, so opening is limited to certain days and seasons. It is a good stop for families cycling or walking the Strawberry Line.
Weekend opening through the season; a local news item said it was open weekends until early November.
