Dollar Museum is an independent local museum in the Hillfoots village of Dollar, housed on two floors of a former woollen mill. Its collection covers the village's history from prehistoric times to the present day, with artefacts, documents, photographs and paintings. A working model of Dollar Railway Station and its mine, showing underground workings, is one of the main draws for younger visitors, and the displays include a dolls' house and a history timeline. Temporary exhibitions change each year, recently on local shops and on mills in Dollar. The museum is small, so a visit suits a relaxed hour or so, and it works well alongside a walk in Dollar Glen or a trip up to Castle Campbell. It is run by a charitable trust with volunteers, and there is a small shop on site.
Seasonal: open from Easter to Christmas only.
