Colzium Lennox Estate sits on the eastern edge of Kilsyth and is free to visit all year. Families come for the grounds: a children's adventure playground, nature walks, a restored ice house and a walled garden with interesting shrubs and trees. The remains of a 15th-century tower house stand on the estate, and the former Clock Theatre now serves as a visitor centre and garden café with audiovisual displays on the estate's history. The local heritage museum occupies a single room in the house, converted from its former chapel, and shows objects from the nearby castles along with industrial and domestic artefacts. The museum is not usually open without prior arrangement, so check ahead if the museum itself is the draw. Seasonal family events and school workshops run during the year, including a Doors Open Day family afternoon.
