Enigma Rooms runs four live escape games in Doncaster city centre, each designed for teams of two to six players who have one hour to find clues, solve puzzles and get out. The rooms vary in theme and difficulty, from a hostage scenario and an adventure set in an ancient-artefacts story to a creepy hospital ward and a detective-style mafia case. The venue states that the Hostage room is well suited to families with children, and it runs seasonal pop-up games at Halloween and Christmas that are pitched at families. Staff brief every group before play, and the venue asks for an adult aged 18 or over to take part in any room that includes under-16s. Because the rooms are upstairs with no lift, the venue advises that they are not suitable for wheelchair users. The same site also offers axe throwing, interactive darts and a themed restaurant, which are separate activities with their own age limits.
