Cryptology Sheffield is a live escape room venue on the first floor of a building on West Street in the city centre. Teams of two to six players work through puzzles and clues against an hour's time limit, in rooms with different themes. The current games include a murder mystery, an afterlife adventure and a Christmas rescue mission in which players help Santa's elves get his sleigh ready, and a heist game is listed as coming soon. The venue says its games suit anybody and it invites groups of friends and family as well as colleagues, so it works for older children and parents who like solving problems together. Some rooms carry mild themes such as death or the supernatural, which the venue flags on its own room pages, so families with younger children may want to check the room before booking.
