The William Morris Society museum occupies the historic coach house and lower rooms of Kelmscott House, the riverside home where William Morris lived from 1878 until his death in 1896. The displays cover his original textile and wallpaper designs, hand-drawn patterns, Kelmscott Press books and a working Albion printing press. A permanent exhibition explores Morris's family life and the creative community around his home. The visit is compact, so it suits families with older children or an afternoon out in Hammersmith rather than a long day. The museum has a free children's activity trail, collected from reception, to help younger visitors look closely at the patterns and objects. There is a small garden and a library on site, and guided tours led by volunteers are available. Food is not sold on site, but several cafés and pubs are within walking distance along the river.
