Facilities
We haven’t checked this venue’s facilities yet. Give them a ring if something specific matters for your visit.
The Royal College of Music Museum sits within the conservatoire on Prince Consort Road and holds a large collection of historic musical instruments, paintings and objects covering more than five centuries of music-making. Visitors can see some of the oldest known instruments, including a very early guitar and a well-known portrait of Joseph Haydn, and many displays include playable pieces that are sometimes heard in live chamber performances. Families can join a free guided tour on Wednesdays, or take a self-guided visit, and the museum runs an educational programme for school-age groups. It is a small, calm museum, so it suits older children and curious adults best, and it makes an easy add-on to the nearby South Kensington museums. General admission is free and no tickets are needed for independent visits.
