What’s there
- Limited parking
No car park on site; the museum's own page names limited public parking on nearby Marylebone Road. Bus and Underground access is close by (Baker Street station, about a minute's walk).
Only facilities we’ve confirmed are listed — anything missing here we simply haven’t checked, rather than know to be absent.
The Sherlock Holmes Museum occupies a Georgian townhouse on Baker Street and is presented as the detective's home, with period rooms, gaslit interiors, wax figures and a large collection of Holmes memorabilia. The highlight is the first-floor study overlooking the street, where visitors can see the furniture, props and personal effects arranged as the stories describe them. The visit is self-guided and takes as long as you like, although groups are greeted by a guide in period costume at the start. Families with older children who enjoy detective stories, mysteries or Victorian history tend to get the most from it, and the museum also runs a quiz that suits children who like puzzles. The building has a narrow staircase, so it is worth checking access before visiting with a buggy or with limited mobility. It is a short walk from Baker Street station and is a popular stop for visitors exploring central London.
