A quiet, family‑friendly spot on Largs’ west coast, the museum sits in the historic Kirkgate House and offers a gentle walk through local history. Inside, visitors can explore exhibits that trace the town’s past, and a special Skelmorlie Aisle tour can be arranged for those interested in the old graveyard and the mausoleum of Sir Thomas Makdougall Brisbane. The building is accessible via a wheelchair ramp, though motorised chairs are not suitable. Free wi‑fi lets families stay connected while learning. School groups can book tailored educational sessions, making it a calm, informative outing for children and adults alike.
