Kensington Gardens is a traditional Victorian seafront park on Lowestoft's Kirkley clifftop, overlooking the town's Blue Flag beach. Inside the park there are four public-use tennis courts (free to book via Lowestoft Town Council), two bowling greens and a boating lake with rentable canoes available in the summer months. A friendly tearoom and cafe with indoor and outdoor seating overlooks the bowling greens, and an additional ice cream kiosk opens during the summer. The gardens, which celebrated their centenary in 2022 with the unveiling of a Peter Pan statue in the pond, are maintained with the help of the Friends of Kensington Gardens. Set on Kensington Road (NR33 0HY) in the heart of the Lowestoft seafront, it is a free, open green space popular with local families for walks, games and a relaxed day out by the coast.
The gardens are perfect for the summer with an additional ice cream kiosk and rentable canoes available for the boating lake.
