Popes Meadow is part of People's Park, a Green Flag-awarded County Wildlife Site in Luton made up of three connected areas: Bells Close Recreation Ground, a sloping hillside leading into woodland, and Popes Meadow itself. Bells Close has a modern children's playground and a trim trail that is well used by families, while Popes Meadow is an open grassy slope - a favourite spot for sledging in snowy weather and the setting for the council's annual November fireworks display. The park is free to enter with open access at all times, and the car park on Havelock Road has 14 spaces including two disabled bays.
