Brantwood Park is one of Luton's oldest public parks: the Town Council bought the land in 1894 to create a recreation ground, historically known as the West Ward Recreation Ground and one of the town's first two. Today it is a free, open-access park in the Bury Park area, within the Rothesay Conservation Area. Families can enjoy a children's play area, a large grass area for informal games and activities, a basketball area popular with teenagers, quiet areas for rest and reflection, mature trees, seating and paths around the park. Toilets are available on site, and the park hosts the annual Dallow Festival.
