At weekends and holidays the car park may be full - arrive early. Parking is free for National Trust members (scan membership card at kiosk). Six 11kW EV charging points in the main car park, available during opening hours. 8 designated disabled spaces near the entrance kiosk.

Winkworth Arboretum is a 95-acre hillside landscape garden between Godalming and Hascombe, cared for by the National Trust. Created by Dr Wilfrid Fox from 1938, it holds over 1,000 species of trees and shrubs, with spectacular autumn colour and spring displays of azaleas, rhododendrons and bluebells on slopes running down to landscaped lakes with a boathouse. Families can follow waymarked trails and the Pokemon TCG Mega Evolution Trail, spot wildlife, and let off steam in the Tree Adventure play area - a natural wooden playground with climbing wall, firefighter's pole, rope tunnel and ladders. The upper arboretum is buggy-friendly, there are baby-changing facilities, under-5s go free and children aged 5-17 get reduced tickets. The Arbor Tea-room cafe serves hot and cold food and drinks, picnic benches are dotted around the grounds, and dogs on short leads are welcome all year round. Note: the arboretum sits on steep slopes in places - the upper section has an accessible tarmac path.
