Ranmore Common is an area of wooded former common land on the North Downs, immediately north-west of Dorking in the Surrey Hills National Landscape (AONB). Much of the common is owned and cared for by the National Trust, and part of it is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) with beech and oak woodland. It is very popular with families, walkers and dog owners, offering open woodland paths, picnic-friendly clearings and an excellent viewpoint along the North Downs Way National Trail. A section of the common is managed for conservation, and the area is easily reached from Dorking and from the nearby A24.
