What’s there

  • Café on site
  • Free parking

On-site car park at the top of the drive near the front gate; parking is normally included with admission. Blue Badge spaces are available closer to the house at the entrance to the Woodland Walk.

Only facilities we’ve confirmed are listed — anything missing here we simply haven’t checked, rather than know to be absent.

Bannockburn House is one of Scotland's most remarkable surviving 17th-century houses, now run by the Bannockburn House Trust charity following a community buyout in 2017. Visitors join guided tours of the grand main hall, rare decorative interiors and hidden service spaces, hearing the stories of Bonnie Prince Charlie's 1746 stay and the house's links to the early development of tartan. The house is also a filming location for Outlander: Blood of My Blood.

For the 2026 season the house opens on most Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10:30am to 4:00pm (18 April - 2 November). Entry is normally by guided tour, so booking ahead is advised, and walk-ins are placed in the first available tour group. Children are welcome on most tours and events, and the trust runs community and seasonal events for the whole family. A tearoom serves teas, coffees and homebaking on Saturdays and Sundays, and The Linen Room shop is open on tour days.

On-site parking is included with admission, with Blue Badge spaces close to the house. The house is under active conservation and restoration, so surfaces can be uneven - sturdy footwear is recommended, and visitors should dress warmly even in summer.

2026 season runs 18 April - 2 November. Summer garden tours most Sundays at 11:30am and 1:30pm (check at the desk). Seasonal family and community events throughout the year, incl. a Halloween spooky woodland walk (e.g. Sat 25 and Sun 26 Oct, 4pm-8:30pm) and festive/Christmas events - dates vary, see the What's On page.
