Grampian Transport Museum is an independent museum and charity in the heart of Alford, Aberdeenshire, open to the public for 40+ years. Its award-winning, ever-evolving collection spans 19th-century chariots to iconic modern vehicles, with hands-on exhibits that engage visitors of all ages.

Visitors can explore the story of going places — from school buses and first bicycles to family road trips and cross-country trains — across the museum halls and Collections Centre. The museum also runs family events, outdoor events, drive-in cinema screenings and heritage skills workshops throughout its season.

Practical info: seasonal opening 28 March - 26 October, daily 10am-5pm (4pm close in October); free car park on site; Motorbites tearoom for light bites; museum buildings 100% wheelchair accessible with a wheelchair available at reception and a platform lift for upper floors; dogs welcome on leads throughout (treats at reception!). GTM+ memberships and group/education visits available.

Open daily 10am-5pm, 28 March - 26 October (4pm close in October). Annual closure November to March.
