The Telford Steam Railway is a volunteer-run heritage railway based at Spring Village, Horsehay in Telford, Shropshire. Steam (or diesel) trains run along the line between Spring Village, Lawley Village and Horsehay & Dawley stations, with departures every 30 minutes from 11am on running days. Day rover tickets let families ride all day, and also include unlimited rides on the narrow gauge trains, entrance to the permanent model railway exhibition and the small artefacts museum, plus use of the picnic area. Kids can also ride the Phoenix Miniature Railway (small extra charge) and the Telford Town Tramway. The Furnaces Tearoom serves breakfast, hot food and drinks from 10:30am, and the Freight Stop Gift Shop sells souvenirs. Free parking is available at Spring Village Station (TF4 2NF), with accessible toilets and baby changing facilities. Dogs on leads are welcome on the trains. The railway opens on Sundays and bank holiday Mondays from Easter until the end of September, with special events such as The Polar Express train ride in winter.
