Free parking all day. Accessible parking at Church Gate entrance (CA18 1RQ), approx 1/3 mile from the main car park (main car park postcode CA18 1RD).

Muncaster Castle, Gardens & Estate is a family-friendly historic attraction set in the Western Lake District fells, close to the coastal village of Ravenglass. The medieval castle has been home to the Pennington family for over 800 years and today offers guided history, curious rooms and the Weapons Hall with daily have-a-go sessions.
In the grounds, the Hawk & Owl Centre stages daily flying displays (11:30am World of Owls and 2pm Sky Hunters) with owls, falcons, eagles and vultures, plus bird-of-prey encounters for ages 10+. There are 77 acres of gardens and woodland to explore, including the Enchanted Trail with fairy doors and woodland dens for younger children, the Yeti Adventure Quarry tree-top ropes and Giant Swing, and an Adventure Playground with picnic benches close to The Stables Cafe and gift shop.
Main season runs 21 March to 23 October 2026, open 7 days a week. Free carer's tickets are available with proof, and the estate is dog-friendly (dogs are not permitted inside the Hawk & Owl Centre).
