Families can explore the Steam Hall with its working engines, including the awe-inspiring Basford Beam Engine, the Transport Gallery full of vintage vehicles and bicycles, and galleries devoted to Nottingham's world-famous lace industry. Monthly Steaming Days (last Sunday of each month) fire up the collection, and Mrs Bird's Victorian World offers a taste of history. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Volunteer-run; open Thursday, Saturday & Sunday plus some bank holidays, 11:00-16:00 (last entry 15:30).
