A Cold War bunker hidden in the Cheshire countryside for over 50 years, now open to visitors. You can explore the underground labyrinth of rooms and see the authentic equipment used to run this defence region during a national emergency. The nuclear weapons display shows generations of British nuclear defence. There's a cinema showing the previously banned film "The War Game". Children can follow the Soviet Spy Mouse Trail and collect a Small Spies Training Manual explaining the bunker's history. A free audio tour is available. The NAAFI Canteen serves refreshments and the shop sells Cold War souvenirs.
Per access statement: closed Mondays & Tuesdays in winter season (Nov-Mar) and approx 2 weeks over Christmas/New Year.
