Bridgnorth Cliff Railway is a funicular railway that has transported people up and down the 111 ft sandstone cliffs between High Town and Low Town for over a century. Two counterbalancing cars run on parallel tracks connected by steel ropes. Originally powered by a water-balance system, the railway now uses an electric winding engine. It remains a working railway serving both townspeople and visitors, offering a short ride with views across the clifftop separation and towards the River Severn.
