What’s there

  • Café on site
  • Picnic area

Only facilities we’ve confirmed are listed — anything missing here we simply haven’t checked, rather than know to be absent.

A medieval castle guarding a strategic crossing of the river Wye, founded in the late 11th century. Families can pick up a game from the ticket office to explore the grounds, descend into the pitch-dark dungeon, or climb steep stairs to the top of the keep for views over the castle and countryside. There's a dry moat to walk around, good for picnicking, and a tearoom for a break. The site runs a family trail and has a World Builder trail too.
