Hatfield House is a Jacobean mansion set within over 1,000 acres of woodland, parkland and formal gardens. Visitors explore state rooms with fine paintings, furniture, tapestries and period craftsmanship, including the Banqueting Hall from the surviving Tudor palace where Elizabeth I spent her childhood. The grounds offer woodland trails, open parkland, and seasonal gardens. Family activities include outdoor play, woodland walks, seasonal trails and school holiday events. The Stable Yard has independent shops and cafés; picnics are welcome on the grass.
