Iona Abbey, on the Isle of Iona off Mull, is one of Scotland's most important historic sites. Managed by Historic Environment Scotland, it includes the restored abbey church, cloisters and a museum of early Christian carved stones. Reach it by the 5-minute ferry from Fionnphort on Mull, then a 10-minute walk (600m uphill) from the pier. Entry is by timed ticket - book online in advance; under-7s go free. There is a shop on site and dogs are welcome in outdoor areas. There are no toilets on site; the nearest are at the Iona Community shop just north of the ticket office. The adjacent Iona Community Abbey Centre has a cafe and further facilities.
