Balmoral Castle has been the Highland home of the Royal Family since 1852. You can explore the gardens, which are described as "a spectacle all year round with new developments every season", and walk the estate grounds. The castle interior is open to visitors for the first time since it was built in 1856, with highly exclusive interior tours available alongside Land Rover expedition tours led by rangers. The onsite restaurant serves speciality tea and coffee with cakes and scones, handmade pies, locally sourced burgers, soup made with produce from the gardens, and ice cream. There's a kids menu and outdoor dining available.
Seasonal venue. 2026 Summer Opening: Sat 28 March - Sun 9 August - grounds, gardens, Mews Gift Shop, Restaurant and Ballroom Exhibition open daily 10:00-17:00. Outside this period opening days and times vary significantly, with many days closed.
