Braemar Castle, rescued and run by the local community since 2007, sits on the A93 in the Cairngorms National Park. The castle itself tells the history of a building that transformed from a redcoat garrison to a high society retreat with Royal connections. A digital guide on Bloomberg Connects offers a room-by-room tour and audio commentary about the castle and its collection. The grounds are open year-round; the castle opens seasonally from April. The castle has WiFi and toilets.

Castle open daily May-August, and Wednesday-Sunday in April, September, October. Closed November-March. Closed for Braemar Gathering 5th September. Grounds open all year round.
