Wharton Park is a beautifully restored historic park nestled on the hillside north of Durham city centre, offering commanding views of the city and cathedral. Created in 1857, the park underwent a major refurbishment in 2016 and now features a Heritage Centre, cafe, childrens play areas, miniature car track, amphitheatre, community garden, outdoor gym, and walking paths. Green Flag Award winning park with a cafe open daily in summer, toilets, car park with EV charging points, and 24 hour pedestrian access.
