Derwent Waterside Park

Derwent Waterside Park is a family day out destination set beside Derwent Reservoir in the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The park features an outdoor adventure playground with wooden play equipment suitable for children of all ages, a free Discovery Nature Trail where kids can follow a map and hunt for letters to win a prize, a five-a-side football pitch, and miles of walking and cycling routes with pushchair-friendly paths. On-site facilities include a self-service cafe serving hot and cold refreshments, a gift shop, picnic areas with tables, and ample parking. Fishing permits are also available for the reservoir. The park hosts regular family events such as animal encounters with Crazy Creatures and the annual Derwent Fest. Entry is free; parking charges apply.
