Blenheim Palace is a UNESCO World Heritage Site set in over 2,000 acres of gardens and parkland shaped by 'Capability' Brown. The palace itself, home to the Dukes of Marlborough since 1705, contains ornate State Rooms hung with tapestries, a Great Hall with a soaring painted ceiling, and the Long Library with 10,000 books. You can visit Churchill's birth room and see the Churchill Exhibition with personal items and original paintings.
For children, there's a giant Adventure Play area with tunnels, bridges, slides, zip-lines, hidden chambers and water play for ages 2–12. The grounds include the Marlborough Maze, the Walled Garden designed by Henry Wise in 1707, a Butterfly House, a miniature train, and a Lights Camera Action! film trail through locations used in Harry Potter, James Bond and other films. The estate also runs a Marlborough Mini Farm at the Walled Garden during summer months.
Marlborough Mini Farm 21st July - 1st September. Dinosaurs Are Forever 10th August - 1st November. Life Through a Royal Lens Exhibition 12th July - 27th September.
