Earth Trust Centre

Earth Trust Centre is the visitor base for Wittenham Clumps, a large stretch of hills, meadows, woodland and farmland on the Thames south of Abingdon. Families come to climb the hills for wide views, follow waymarked walking routes of different lengths, and look for wildlife around the wetlands, orchards and wildflower meadows. Children tend to enjoy the open space to run about, the trees to climb and the chance to spot birds and bugs. The visitor centre has a pop-up café, toilets and baby changing, and the surrounding landscape is open all year. Earth Trust also runs seasonal family events, trails and daytime holiday camps, so there is often something new to join in with. Dogs are welcome on the trails. Because the site is a working farm and nature reserve, it suits families who like being outdoors and are happy to walk on uneven and sometimes muddy ground.
