Pay and Display car park. There are many car parks in and around Caernarfon town, including a long stay public car park at the waterfront, adjacent to the castle.

Only facilities we’ve confirmed are listed — anything missing here we simply haven’t checked, rather than know to be absent.

Castell Caernarfon is a fortress-palace on the banks of the River Seiont, built by Edward I and his military architect Master James of St George. The castle features immense curtain walls, a King's Gate with polygonal towers, eagle statues and multi-coloured masonry echoing imperial Roman architecture. It took 47 years to build the castle, town walls and quay together. A lift provides access to upper levels of the King's Gate. Inside, the Royal Welch Fusiliers Museum occupies two towers and covers over 300 years of the regiment's history; entry is included with castle admission. An audio guide is available. The site has uneven historic steps and steep towers; terrain is rated strenuous.

Opening times vary seasonally: 1 March–30 June 9.30am–5pm; 1 July–31 August 9.30am–6pm; 1 September–31 October 9.30am–5pm; 1 November–28 February 10am–4pm. Grid above shows restrictive (winter) pattern.
