Questions parents ask

Is there anywhere to eat, or should we bring a picnic?
There is a picnic area in the grounds where you can eat, and dogs are welcome there too. We haven't confirmed whether there is a café on site.
How long should we allow for a visit?
A typical visit lasts around 60 minutes. You can explore the Roman ruins outside, follow the family-friendly trail, and visit the museum with its displays of mosaics, artefacts and finds from the site.
Will it work in bad weather?
There are plenty of activities inside the museum for families to enjoy, making it a great place to visit whatever the weather. You can handle real Roman artefacts, try dressing up as a Roman soldier, and see the best preserved mosaics and coin hoard indoors.
Is the site manageable with buggies and young children?
We haven't confirmed how buggy-friendly the site is. Outside, there are ramps to view the villa remains, but the site is largely grass with no paths and the ground is uneven, which may make access difficult for buggies or wheelchairs.
Do we need to book in advance?
Booking tickets in advance can save you time on the day. You can book online, and your ticket is valid for unlimited visits for 12 months from purchase.
