Beacon Fell is a 75-hectare country park in the Forest of Bowland, built around an isolated hill that rises to 266 metres and offers views across the Lancashire Plain and the Bowland Fells. The site encompasses woodland, grassland and moorland, with designated routes for walking and horse riding — the Fellside Trail is popular with horse riders. There are orienteering courses graded for seniors and juniors, and Beacon Fell Adventures at the Visitors Centre runs environmental education activities for children. A café operates kiosk-style takeaway service. The Carwags Picnic Area has barbecue facilities (the only place on the park where barbecues are permitted) and toilets.
