Lever Park is a country park on the fringe of the West Pennine Moors, given to the people of Bolton in 1904 and laid out with open ground, woodland and avenues of trees. Families come for the replica of Liverpool Castle near the lower reservoir, the terraced gardens with their long views, and the Pike Tower on the hill above. Paths along the reservoirs are suitable for pushchairs, wheelchairs and bikes, and there are several walking trails of different lengths to follow with children. A cafe and an information centre sit near the central car park, and a treetop adventure course run by a separate operator is on site. It is an outdoor place for picnics, nature walks and a relaxed day out rather than a set attraction with rides or indoor play.
