Worden Park spans over 60 hectares of meadows, woodlands and playing fields on Leyland's outskirts. The playground is the largest in Leyland, with equipment for toddlers including swings, climbing frames, springy toys and a large sand pit with sand diggers, and for juniors aged 7-12 including a see-saw, slides, rope climbing frame and cableway. There's sensory equipment too: musical chimes, talk tubes and wind pipes. The park also has a maze of hornbeam hedges dating to the 1850s, with three false entrances to find your way past. The walled garden, built in 1777-8, is open to walk around. A model railway operates on selected days, run by the Leyland Society of Model Engineers.
