Baltic occupies four floors of a converted warehouse on Gateshead quayside, with exhibitions of contemporary art spread across the building. The venue includes two viewing decks with views over the Quayside, a sensory room with toys, projections and lights, a learning lounge with educational games, a library focused on contemporary art and visual culture, a shop, and a kitchen. Wednesday to Sunday opening includes exhibitions, guided tours and activities; a summer quayside tour runs every Saturday, and creative workshops are regularly programmed.
