A 19th-century French chateau-style mansion set within gardens spanning 300 years of design history. The formal gardens front the house, with the Long Water and Archer Pavilion, while woodland paths lead through an 18th-century Great Garden. You can visit the Bath House, Chinese Bridge and Chinese Temple, and explore the unfurnished but ornately decorated state rooms inside. A café in the Walled Garden overlooks a children's play area. The gardens are undergoing a 20-year restoration project.
Summer (to mid-Oct): open daily 10:00-17:00, last entry 16:00. Winter (Nov-Feb): open Wed-Sun 10:00-16:00, closed Mon-Tue; closed over Christmas (21-27 Dec 2026). Mansion closed Thu 27 Aug 2026 for private hire.
