Little Orchard Alpacas is a small family-run alpaca farm in the East Devon countryside, home to a herd of around 27 alpacas along with pigs and a farm dog. Visitors book in advance for an alpaca walk through the orchard or a meet-the-alpacas tour where you can meet the herd, feed them their favourite treats and learn how their fleece becomes yarn. Children can join the walks and there are dedicated children's alpaca parties, so it suits families with young children and older children alike. Refreshments are served at the end of each experience, and cream teas can be booked ahead. The on-site shop sells alpaca yarn, knitwear and gifts. Everything runs as private bookings, so it feels calm and personal, and the farm is best visited with sturdy footwear for muddy paddocks.
Weather policy: experiences may be postponed in heavy rain, high temperatures, storms or high winds. Christmas alpaca experiences are offered.
