Pirates Bay is an outdoor adventure golf course in Promenade Park, Maldon, Essex. The 19-hole course is built around a pirate theme, with a full-size timber galleon to play through, a walk-through shark, tiki huts, a graveyard, a waterfall and a cannon. Families visit for a round of crazy golf together, and the venue also hosts children's birthday parties, school and youth groups and corporate outings. The venue's own site says no booking is needed for a casual round, since clubs and equipment are provided. Because the course is outdoors, it suits fine weather, and the opening pattern is seasonal, with fuller hours in the summer and weekend and school-holiday hours in the quieter months, so it is worth checking before travelling.
Seasonal opening; low-season hours on the venue's site as above.
