A themed nine-hole adventure golf course on the seafront at Clacton-on-Sea, set next to the Greensward Cafe. The holes are decorated with carved totem poles, a figurehead, sculpted sea creatures and a hut to aim through, so children get as much out of the scenery as the golf. The course is designed to suit complete beginners and more experienced players alike, and the venue offers a scorecard on a phone so families do not have to add up scores by hand. It is an easy, low-key outing for a family group, with the beach and the cafe close by for a break before or after a round. The course is open outdoors, so it suits dry, mild weather best.
