The Fenn Bell Conservation Project is a small zoo attached to the Fenn Bell Inn in St Mary Hoo on the Hoo Peninsula, near Rochester. The venue presents itself as Medway's first zoo licence holder. Its animals are mostly rescues or have come from other zoos, and the project describes its aim as giving them a safe and enriching place to live. Visitors can see a range of animal species in enclosures around the grounds. The zoo offers keeper and animal encounter experiences and works with schools on education. Seasonal events are held at Easter, Halloween and Christmas, and the attached pub serves food and drinks for parents. It suits families with younger children who enjoy animals, and older children with an interest in conservation.
