Hemsley Conservation Centre is a small zoo set among woodland paths on the edge of Fairseat, near Sevenoaks. Visitors can see a range of rare and exotic animals, including lemurs, meerkats, porcupines, kinkajous and reptiles, and the centre runs a programme of free animal talks during the day. Pre-booked animal experiences let children get closer to some of the animals, with feeding and meet-and-greet sessions on offer, and there is a junior keeper experience for older children. The site is informal, with gravel, woodchip and decked paths that can be muddy after heavy rain, so families with buggies should allow for that. A tearoom and picnic areas make it easy to stay for the whole day, and entry covers the full opening window so visitors can come and go as they wish.
