A working farm across about 100 acres of Kent countryside, run by the Canterbury Oast Trust and recognised by the Rare Breeds Survival Trust. Families can meet pigs, goats, sheep, horses, cattle and poultry, many of them rare breeds, and see guinea pigs, ferrets and other smaller animals. The children's barn lets younger visitors pet and handle a rotating selection of friendly animals. There is an indoor soft play barn, adventure play parks, a butterfly tunnel in the warmer months, woodland walks and a discovery garden with wildlife areas. Pig racing, tractor trailer rides and seasonal events such as Halloween and Christmas feature through the year. A restaurant and gift shop sit on site. The farm suits toddlers and older children alike, and the site is designed with quieter areas and sensory-friendly information for visitors with additional needs.
Questions parents ask
- Is the farm manageable with a buggy, or with a toddler and older child at once?
- The main farm area has level access, and you can enjoy a covered tractor-trailer ride around the farm. However, parking and buggy accessibility across all attractions have not been confirmed, so contact them in advance if you have specific access needs.
- How long should we allow for a visit?
- A typical visit lasts about 3 hours, which gives you time to meet the animals, explore the attractions like the adventure play parks and woodland walks, and grab food at one of the eating areas.
- Is there food on site, or should we bring a picnic?
- There's a Granary Restaurant serving meals and snacks, plus a café, ice cream kiosk, and multiple picnic areas throughout the farm, so you can choose to eat what they offer or bring your own.
- What can we do if the weather is wet?
- Wet weather needn't ruin your visit—there are undercover animal barns, the Granary Restaurant, and indoor soft play available year-round, plus cozy spots to relax and shop.
