The Army Flying Museum tells the story of British Army aviation, from early balloons and kites through to modern helicopters. Two large aircraft halls hold more than 35 fixed-wing and rotary aircraft, and displays use interactives and video to explain how army flying developed. The museum is set beside a working airfield, so it suits families with older children who enjoy aircraft and history. Younger visitors have an indoor soft play area for under-8s, an outdoor aircraft-themed playground, dressing-up stations and a family activity book on arrival. Free craft sessions run in school holidays, along with trails for all ages and a monthly toddler group with pedal aeroplanes. A café serves a children's menu, and there is a quieter Noises Off morning each month for visitors who find sound difficult.
