Southampton's Titanic story is the centrepiece here: an interactive model of the ship, recorded messages from passengers on the night it sank, and original objects recovered from the wreck. The museum also covers 200,000 years of the city's history through two exhibitions—Gateway to the World and Southampton Stories—filled with models, costumes, artworks and photographs spanning Roman traders through Saxon settlers to the Second World War and the docks. The café serves coffee and locally produced food, and the museum shop stocks Titanic and maritime souvenirs.
