The Crypt is a team escape room set in a basement in the centre of Fordingbridge, a market town on the edge of the New Forest. Teams are locked in together and must work through crawl tunnels, dark spaces and a run of puzzles and hidden locks to find the keys and get out. The storyline is built around a spooky mansion and its underground vault, and a host plays a character during the game, which visitors describe as part of the fun. The atmosphere is dark and creepy with some jumps, so it suits older children, teenagers and adults who enjoy a scare; it is less suitable for very young or easily frightened children. Families with older children may find it a lively activity for a school holiday or a rainy afternoon out.
